Prince Harry and Meghan Markle End Work With CCO and PR Firm Method Communications

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have concluded their professional relationship with Chief Communications Officer Meredith Maines and the U.S. PR firm Method Communications, the couple’s spokesperson confirmed, marking another transition for the high‑profile Sussex communications team. Maines, who joined the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in early 2025 as their first formal chief communications officer, stepped down after roughly ten months in the role, saying she will pursue new opportunities in 2026 and expressing gratitude for the work she helped accomplish. Alongside Maines’ departure, the Sussexes also parted ways with Method Communications, the external agency they hired mid‑2025 to support their media strategy and public relations efforts. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said that “Meredith Maines and Method Communications have concluded their work with Archewell” and that the couple is thankful for their contributions.

The Sussexes, who stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020 and have since developed business, media, and philanthropic ventures, have experienced significant turnover in their communications team over the past five years, with Maines often cited as the eleventh publicist to leave their orbit in that period. In lieu of appointing a new chief communications officer, Liam Maguire, currently the Sussexes’ communications director for the UK and Europe, is expected to take on expanded responsibilities overseeing media relations and messaging. Industry observers have noted that the frequent changes in Harry and Meghan’s communications leadership — including recent exits and restructuring within their nonprofit Archewell operations — reflect ongoing efforts to refine how the couple positions themselves publicly amid evolving media and public attention. Moving forward, reports suggest the Sussexes may bring in a new U.S.‑focused communications partner to replace Method Communications, though formal announcements on that front have not yet been made. The shakeup comes as the couple prepares for their 2026 projects and continues to balance their personal brand, business interests, and charitable work on the global stage.
